2002 E320 wagon
2002 E320 with a very quirky A/C.

Hello!

I am the proudish owner of a 2002 E320 wagon with 201k miles on it. It was originally my parents' wagon and my mom gave it to me when she got her new wagon. My dad did everything on that car but he unexpectedly passed away, so I can't ask him why the car does what it does.

The A/C has a very quirky habit and I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with it. It will work for part of the day and when you park it and turn it off then get back in them the A/C won't work. Sometimes it will work all day and other days it will only work for two or three errands then not work. Sometimes it you leave it on for a bit or hit a bump, it will randomly come back on. I've tried all the A/C diagnostic troubleshooting and everything on the readout reads mostly normal. When the A/C works, it blows cold and hard.

Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this?

FIY your car has great feature for DIY what is climatronic sensor readout.
Takes about 90 seconds from the comfort of driver seat and with clean fingers to push few buttons on couple of occasions to have data for full system troubleshooting.
Find the readout procedure and come back here with the data, so we can help you to interpret it.
