What parts do I need to install an Alpine single din head unit in my 2001 E430. My car has the single din radio, stock bose stereo, no navigation.

My limited research tells me this bose amp has RCA level inputs and all I need is a head unit with 3v or greater pre out voltage to drive the bose amp. Is that true?

What adapters/harnesses do I need to install the Alpine HU, run it through the stock bose amp, and maintain my steering wheel controls?

Any help would be appreciated, I want to order everything today ( like now lol )

Not sure on the 3v preamp output as it seems from personal experience 4v is minimum. Go to Crutchfield, they have all the harness adapters. For steering wheel control, you will need a PAC SWI Jack ( renamed SWI RC) and SWI CAN adapters. Not a difficult install, but time consuming programming the SWI adapters.

I just did one on a '99 E320, you don't need to use any of rca outputs, the speaker wires take care of all the connections. I ordered the antenna adapter and wiring harness from jbtoolsales.com.
