Oil Level below Min
Hello i have 1998 MB e320 4matic wagon .
i bought the car in march with 139xxx miles and now 149XXX.
I drove down the wagon from Wisconsin last thursday/friday from Wisconsin to tampa florida (1300). with out a hick up.
Did an oil change with 0w-40 mobile one oil and new filter but as soon as i test drove i got an oil level below min message on the dash , so i checked the oil it was half way between min and max.... filled it up to max ....error is still coming up.
I have to leave by tomorrow(saturday) afternoon. what can i do ? please help.

Oil level sensor is one of the weak points of those cars.
Confirm with dipstick and when that looks good, ignore the message for time being.
I know people who drive with the error for 4 years as shops charge quite few $$ for dropping oil pan to replace the sensor.

Thank you for the quick replies!
I did check theBattery and it read 12.25v but will check at the local auto zone for sure.
Would it be possible for me do damage the sensor in any way by changing the oil myself?
Just to clarify the message only came up after the oil change, never since i had the car.

I can always find a way to muck up even a simple job if I'm not focused. So if
you are unsure of your skills or limit, than it would be safer to have a pro
mechanic do this. It isn't just the knowledge but also having the proper tools
to do the job and how to improvise and problem solve should you encounter
something unexpected, e.g. rounding off a bolt, stripping threads, not having
the proper scraping tool to remove the gasket etc. With a paid mechanic, at
least you will be ensured of coverage and warranty of service. r-
