Possible dead computer modules

Hello everyone,

New here, but been using the forum as a resource for some time now.

I have this problem on my W210 where the BAS, ESP, ABS, and SRS lights are all on. This all came up after a friend of mine accidently put in a new battery backwards. This blew the fuses for the Command and Bose amplifier. I took care of that but the climate control backlights are dead.

I took it to one of my indy mechanics and he attempted to connect his diag PC to the failing modules, and it returned with a failed to connect message, stating that the car electrics were not on.

I know those lights apart from the SRS are usually attributed to a bad brake light switch but that was replaced just before this happened and double checked after the whole situation.

What do you all recommend I start with? Are these modules easily swapped? Or do they need to be recoded? I unfortunately cannot source any wiring diagrams to check for proper signal and voltages. I come from a large background with older BMWs, mainly 80s and 90s 7 series and there is a plethora of info on those cars, not so much on these, at least by what I see.

I would like to swap these modules out but cannot find if they need to be recoded, reprogrammed.

Thanks in advance.
