Crazy and spend money idea...does it work???
I am the rookie to the group, i have a question is my ride is 1998 E230, when i bought it, i don't optional HID and PTS system, now the used parts more easier to available So if i want to install The Hid and PTS system, do I need change the computer to solve the malfunction light? and how should i do can make Automatic Level Control & Headlight washer work successful, the most important is...what parts i need to buy??

Thank you everyone.
the suspension to the headlight. as the vehicle is un/weighted, the height changes
are extrapolated and conveyed to the headlight adjustment linkage which tilts
the reflector assembly inside the headlight shell. I do not recall this to be an
adjust-by-wire rather a more primitive method of mechanical linkages.
I don't recall from my years of being on the various 210 forums of anyone
having retrofitted OE HID complete with the autolevel. I presume that was
because it was easier to skip the autolevel and just pop in the HID headlight,
be it an OE MB reflector, a OE retrofit using a 211 projector, or dropping in
an inexpensive HID kit easily purchased off the Web.
If you used MB issued parts and skipping the autolevel, there is a chance that
the bulb malfunction warning may not light up at all, since the parts are old
technology and high(er) resistance. Note that my 99 E320 (USA) model is
using w211 projector fitted into a Depo headlight shell, Hella ballasts and
Osram D2S bulbs. These combination of parts do not trigger the bulb
malfunction warning.
I did the OEM xenon retrofit and it was plug and play, with the exception of the auto leveling. I left the motors in there, but they are not connected. I too, dont know of anyone who has done the retrofit. IMHO, its quite a bit of work for a feature that i dont find that important really.
