Need help installing driver side mirror assembly 2001 e320

Need help installing driver side mirror assembly 2001 e320
I woke up one morning to find my driver side mirror knocked off by another car. I was able to remove the black part of the assembly held by the 3 screws. I ordered a new mirror assembly and I need help getting it back on. Can anyone send a video or pics to help thanks.

oh, after a day of thinking about this, if you're saying you bought a complete mirror
assembly (housing, motor, mirror) i REMEMBER now that in order to install it you
need to fight the spring and fold the mirror unit. wedge it open with a block of
wood so that you can access the 3 screw holes and to secure it to the door frame
