Hood latch issue
Hi Guys,
I'm banging my head over this issue. Ever since i bought my car the driver side hood latch was a problem child. I decided enough of it and could not bare to see that side of the hoop bumping up and down on the highway. I purchased a new oem latch with no results. I tried lowering and increasing the height using the small hood adjuster next to the latch, but it will not clamp down. I cannot feel it clamping into anything when I push down or it feels that way compared to the other side. I've owned quite a few 210 and 208's in the past which would take some effort to close on one side. I refuse to lift the hood up high as many do and try to close it that way.
I cannot succumb to the dealership on this one, if anyone could offer up some insight it would be very much appreciated!! Thanks, -Rob

thanks for that. without the VIN or other added information, out of an abundance
of caution, I always ask because from my experience, there is an even chance
that parts change, improved, etc from TSB/complaints and other conditions.
With a broad and general description, you can spin your wheels trying to gain
traction in the Workshop Information System

You wasted your money, if you have your girl friend or other pull on the hood latch with the hood open while you observe the latch---- you will or should observe that the issue is with the cable and not the latch.
Install a new cable and enjoy a hot dog with the girlfriend
