1998 W210 55 AMG rear suspension
Currently I have the chance of buying a 98 E55 sedan. The car has a little rear driver door and wheel damage, and few suspension bits are broken. The thing is, since I live in Portugal, and there are about 5 cars total here, I would like to know what's the different parts from a regular w210 for a 55 AMG in terms of suspension..
I read that the shocks as well as the sway bars are different, and that is not a problem. I am more concerned in suspension arms and rear subframes..
If anyone know the actual differences between the 2 would be nice, could play a major part in buying or not the car.
Thanks
Overall - coils springs (AMG labeled) - shocks (AMG labeled) - and sway bar were the key suspension items specific to US model.
I suggest you web search the specific MB part#'s for your E55 - with those part#'s I "think" you will find most of the common suspension parts are interchangeable with either W210 overall or with E430 V8.
Shocks are available aftermarket w/o AMG branding -
