Regarding '98 E320 AC recharging
During the process of replacing the AC Pressure Switch at the receiver drier, I released all the refrigerant as well as oil (may be?) out of the system.
I understand the proper refrigerant and oil capacity for the vehicle is 33.50oz and 8.50oz, respectively.
Questions: Should I just refill 33.50oz of R134a and skip the 8.5oz of oil? Or, do I need to refill both refrigerant and oil of the proper amount? Do you recommend using a pressure gauge rather than using the weight?
Your expertise is appreciated!!!

No way you loose all the oil, so I would adjust it. Good question how much, but 50% would be my guess.
Refrigerant amount is listed on the label under the hood and when charging by weight is the best method, doing it by pressure works as well.
What cans of R134 are you using?

Thank you for that, kajtek1. I am still getting some informations at this point and I have no idea what cans of R134a I will/should use. Do you have any recommendations? I know there are so many choices at automotive stores. I have heard that ANY R134a cans will all do the same job...do you agree?

R134 is R134 just don't buy cans with "conditioner"
Last time I had problems with AC I run into 30 lb tanks on sale.
Now have supply for next 174 years.

...Perhaps, you can go into a "refilling" business.
I am just curious though, what could be the issues with ones with conditioner in them? What about dye?
