Dropped Key Doesn't Work

I dropped one of my electronic keys and now it will not start the car. The door lock and unlock and trunk buttons still work. Any suggestions? Thanks!

4 wheeled car.
DOH! That sucks. I'm always scared that'll happen to me when I drop mine. Maybe I should start carrying both keys with me just in case!

maybe you knocked something loose inside the key? I've dropped the smartkey before and it still worked...

open it up and take a look or bring it to the dealer and say it doesn't work anymore :p

it might not be a problem with the key. i had a similar problem and it was because of the security system and transmission computer. two different problems both not letting the car start. It might not be from dropping the key after all. one of keys was thrown at me which didnt make it, hit the top of the steps came all the way down hitting a lot of steps then hitting the ground and skirting into the street. The key barley holds itself togeather but still starts the car as well as unlock and lock everything. I tend to think these keys can take a lot of abuse and still work.

i have dropped my key several times without experiencing any trouble. You myst have been max unlucky if the fall broke the key.
(Actually it is not the fall as much as the sudden stop)
