car won't start- FOB

Found out the Key FOB went through a wash and dry cycle. KEY didn't work at all. Wiped it down and took it apart, cleaned it out with alcohol and q-tips. Put in new batteries. now the FOB blinks one time.

Thought maybe the car battery was shot because the inside lights didn't turn on, radio works. so cx that theory out.

What are my options?

Nearest dealer is 60-8 miles away and is $350 for a new FOB. problem, their factory is in Houston so that's another worry since I don't think it will get here in time.

I have tried the articles on the forum. Problem is for one of the suggestions, I can't turn the FOB to the on position inside the car.

Nothing is working

You have been spammed by the BW boys--your key is Foooooked---donate the car or have your girlfriend drive you to the nearest dealer and make sure you call first to get document instructions, else you will be back whining I forgot my registration and title, but the motel was great!

You can probably get the old one fixed after you get a new one.

The EEPROM chip can be moved to another (dryer) key circuit board.

It may be a bit late, but for anyone else throw it in a ziplock baggie with rice. The rice will pull out the moisture. I did this when my son dropped his iPod in the toilet!!! Don't ask, but only #1!!! It wasn't working properly and the screen was screwed up. 12 hours later it worked great. Give it a shot. It's only rice and time.
