Battery Charge light
i have a 1997 E300 Diesel. I recently changed my battery and alternator because i had a battery light message; however the Battery charge light message on the dashboard continues to show up in the mornings or after eight hours of not moving the car. My alternator that i got was a reman from an auto parts store and, my battery is brand new. I don't know weather to consider getting a genuine reman alternator and genuine battery from the dealer or not. Has anybody ever experienced a problem like this? Also the car turn on perfect in the morning or after 5 to eight hours of not moving it. Furthermore it does not lose any power while driving.

Sounds like poor alternator, but check the car voltage next morning.
If you have climatrionic, you can display it there, what usually shows 0.5V less than at battery clamps.
If not, you use cigarette lighter socket, or just attach multi-meter to battery clamps.
You battery should show healthy upper 12'v when you enter the car.
That will drop when you turn ignition and GP, but after engine start it should immediately go to 13 +V
Good charging voltage is 13.5 -13.8V
