Mercedes-Benz E320 1999
Bose audio,mercedes e320 1999

Can i install an aftermarket radio on my MB e320 1999 Bose audio system?..(without re-wiring the speakers or the amp),just with a kit?...wondering if anyone done it before?...any answer is much apreciated.

Shouldn't be a problem. I did it in my old 2001 E55 with a kit from Crutchfield.

There are adapter plug/harness available - the key is to choose a replacement head unit that has a "high V pre-out" meaning preferable 3V+ pre-amp output.. a lower pre-out voltage won't drive the Bose electronic amplifiers well.. again, focus on pre-amp output voltage

That is correct. I had completely forgotten about that. As soon as I read it I remembered it took extra effort to find a stereo for that reason.

And - by and large - you will lose steering wheel controls for your new head unit - unless you go into another whole different round on "steering wheel control adapters".... that said - adding the features available on newer head units can be a good thing - IF you have acceptable pre-amp output voltage - 3V or better..
