Hood Release Lever- How to Change?

The interior plastic hood release lever cracked and I'm just wondering how to swap it out. I've ordered the new part from my local dealer and the cable is still in the correct position. How do I go about getting the old one out?

does this help? i recall it being very straight forward and easy. i saw a video
somewhere once on the Web but didn't need it so I didn't keep. will keep looking.
I recall the cable having a swagged cylinder end just like motorcycle cable and
it slipped into a capture hole in the plastic lever. it's been a while...

p.s. similar to model 124 design (step 7, 8). pull lever while grabbing wire with
needle nose pliers with other hand and manipulating and disconnecting cable.
unscrew latch. reverse

One screw is all it takes to remove. IIRC, just pull the handle back and you'll see it. Remove lever, pull cable out. Hook cable into new lever, pull cable shroud back until it slips into its position (the black "tube" in the photo; you'll know it). Install screw. Use a drop light to make it easier to see.

Took me 5-10 minutes to change mine.
