2003 E320 4matic wagon
2004/2005 E320
Just wondering if the engine in the 2004/ 2005 E320 is the same as the 2002. I am interested in maybe going to the newer body style wagon. I have a 2003 4matic wagon now. I have read about problems with the 2006/2007 E350 engine and want to avoid that. Thanks

Looks like it should be the same until 2004. The balance shaft issue is with the E350s starting in 2005. Your best bet would to buy a late-2007-2009 model as the issue was fixed fairly early in the 2007 MY. The clean point for the balance shaft issue is 30 468993.
