Engine Swapping
Just a curious question. I am a newbie for MB but ok experience with Jap import.
I own a RX 7 already on its second motor and probably going to need a third if I decide to keep it longer. Usually rotary last at best 100K miles if you drive it normally .. and if you race it, maybe 30K to 50K
anyway, back to MB.. just wondering is it common to swap engines for MB.. in particular W210.
I guess some of the things is whether the cost benefit of doing it, if engine are in short supply and labour and everyone is probably cost an arm or a leg, might as well buy another one... but what about the E55 engine.. probably not many of that around anyway...
as for tunning the E320, I really don't think there's much to do and I really don't want to put anymore money modifying ANOTHER car .. hahaha

there are tuning for the e320 but costs are a arm and a leg.... e55 engine wouldn't be bad but good luck finding one., i found one but with engine's you never know......... guy wanted 12,000 and then minus all the other things you gotta do, your better off selling the w210 and get a 99 or 2000 w210 e55

With the way gas price goes (almost $3 for premium in OC now), it's just matte rof time before gas cost as much as milk.
I am thinking about:
1. Swap engine of my Lexus GS w/ one in the Toyota Tercel
2. Swap engine in my W210 E320 w/ engine from C180
3. Swap engine from my W211 E320 w/ engine from D240
Any suggestion ? My gas bill should go from $400/month to less than $200. Yahoooooooo
