Do have a good body man? Are you any good at diy or car maintenance? I ask a lot of question's I'm of that age my Diesel has 185,000 still runs well but i change the oil every 5,000 miles and do all the filters and coolant regularly iunder stand such an expensive car they could have da a better anti rust protection and wash weekly and polish a few times a year so in unless your willing to be passionate about your it your pissing ing the wind hope its warm down their!

10 years ago i had a 99 E240 with something like 40k on the clock, it had rust holes under the doors and in more places, mercedes changed every single body part under warranty.
i actually worked at a dealership for mercedes at that time, and they where doing this to dozents of car
What part of the world are you from? I'll try Mercedes UK but I'm not optimistic about it. Same subject yesterday I changed out side temperature sensor piece of cake works a treat. Then the nightmare began had issues with moisture in headlights or lamps if your in UK needed to refit clips on back right side that's driver side over here got unit out and I could not believe it more bleeping rust over wheel arch under coolant reservoir poked around rotted through had to move wires hoses etc applied antitrust again wire brushed scraped primed and tetrasealed all infected area pop divided new aluminium plate pain stakedly in the cold and night put all back together Easter said then done! Getting sick of this **** this model is a rust bucket but I'm going to carry on once I pay my mortgage I'll think of replacing the thing is just put new alloy wheels on the old original Mercedes are f___ed if any body in the world needs wheels that need a bit tlc they are still in my greenhouse ie need reenamling keep smiling.

All joking aside my car actually has very little rust and I live right on the ocean. I can feel a little under the rear wheel wells and a drop behind the fuel filler. Other than that it looks quite good. Japanese cars I've owned have done much worse. The common rust areas that concern me are the lower control arms, top strut mounts and the transmission mount. Those can be really dangerous if the fail at a bad time.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you had problems logging in.
So your from Iceland I've been to Rekivic on stop over to London when I moved to the UK.
This weekend weather permitting going to under treat front wheel arch's and have good look out for more rust keeping touch .
