Cabin Hood Release Handle- Is there Multiple Part Numbers?
My old cabin hood release handle broke and I purchased a used part from someone off eBay. When I went to install the part the cable seemed to be slightly larger than the shroud on the new part and as a result it would not secure the hood properly.
Is there 2 different versions of this part, or did someone maybe sell me one off a different model thinking it would work.
I have a 2002 E320 that is RHD. The screw pattern and handle lined up the same so it's not a case of installing it in reverse. I've also attached a photo of the old correct one.

what are the part numbers on the broken release handle...as well as the use/replacement one? are they not stamped on the plastic somewhere?
i scanned 420, 430, E44, E320... and so far, all are coming up with same part number 1248800320

I looked everywhere on the part and couldn't find a part number stamped on it, maybe it wore off over time? Thats a good starting point, only other thing I can think of is to call a U.K. dealership and ask.

For future reference, it can't hurt to post your VIN when asking about part numbers. Things can be looked up that way and then you know you'll be getting the correct part number for you car.
