Puzzling Evap E320 2001 AWD Wagon

Hey everyone, here's a puzzler.

Ok so I have the Evap issue that many many people seem to have in my E320 wagon. I haven't made it to the charcoal canister but I intend to pull that rear wheel off and see what I see, maybe disconnect and spray MAF cleaner in the lines...look for a hole or what have you and if none of that has an impact I'll replace the whole Evap canister.

But the weird thing here was I had gone under the hood at first and unplugged and sprayed MAF into the purge valve lines then reconnected it and voila!!! The engine light went away, the flashing gas lamp went away and the error code on my scanner went away. It gave me enough time to get the car down to an emissions test to pass it and be registered!

...but 2 days later it all came back again...

So I'm thinking Evap canister.
Anyone else?

No need to use the BS spray---you need to concentrate on replacing the purge valve.

Hey Plutoe, my bad forgot to mention that I had replaced the purge valve with no success. But connecting and reconnecting the old one just to see if it was dirty did make the system work, albeit for only 2 days before it started up again. So I tried cleaner, no luck, then tried replacing the purge valve and no luck, no change.
