1997 Mercedes 420 Catalytic Converters
does anyone have a source to suggest? i want a number to compare what my mechanic offers. am i correct in assuming there is no repair to a catalytic converter - only a replacement?

You can't just cut them open and replace the inside. You can get an aftermarket cat and have it welded in to your exhaust system instead of buying the whole pipe from Mercedes.

Those areas were high in people that had relocated to Florida from other states such as New York, New Jersey and Arizona to name a few. I think they were pretty well long gone before they moved to Florida. The rest of the state had very few problems.

Are you kidding? Florida is the fastest growning state in the county. There are people moving here every day from every state in the US. Arizona does have sand and heat but you have no real beach. I'm not putting Arizona down and I know it is a fine state but I'd choose to live in Florida anyday over ANY other state.
