Xenon headlights
How hard is it to convert from standard halogen headlights to factory xenon on 1996 model? Is it plug and play? And is there any adaptation process to follow after installment.

if you try to buy new, the package will cost you approximately $2500 US. if you spend the
time locating the parts, it will still be about$1500+
HID headlights
D2R bulbs
Hella ballasts
auto leveling mechanism which links the suspension to the headlight
technically, this may not be acceptable from a legal standpoint if your car did not come with HID.
this may be one of the reasons why many people wishing better lighting simply go with the
following (with some variation) for about $500 (but won't have the factory look in the lens)
aftermarket HID in the projector design with HID specs
D2R bulbs
ballasts

It's not a straight swap, you need the self-leveling mechanism setup which allows the Xenon head lights to point accordingly otherwise it's just another pair of $$$ (xenon) headlights.
