2000 E320 Wagon - passenger seat won't recline
Just got the vehicle recently and today was the first day my wife rode in it. She tried to recline the front passenger seat but it would only 'decline' no-matter which side of the seat back adjustment button (on the door) she pushed. One of the memory buttons reclined the seat to a comfortable position so the wife is happy and the motor is working, but as soon as I tried to recline the seat back with the adjustment button it would only decline again. Anyone know a fix for this?

Just tried your suggestion but no change - in fact when I was moving the seat all the way back, as soon as it reached the stops it started to move forward again! Checked the memory buttons again and all the motors and adjustments are working. How about disconnecting the battery - would that reset everything?

Disconnecting the battery could be worth a shot. You'll probably need the radio code to get the stereo to work again (if running the stock unit) and the 1 touch windows will have to be reset. It might also throw a brake warning too when you turn the car back on. Go full left, full right and back to center with the car running to get rid of the brake one.

Ok...I'll try disconnecting the battery when i get home again. Am on the road this week so NPR on the (stock) radio is keeping me company...hopefully I won't need to go to a dealership to get the radio code and the windows reset - will check the forum as I'm sure these questions have been asked and answered. But before going through all this, I might try pulling the fuse(s) and/or relays (if there are any) for the seat and see if that fixes the reclining issue.
By the way - just drove from Virginia Beach to Annapolis - averaged over 27 mpg which I'm sure everyone knows about but I was pleasantly surprised especially as I was keeping up with the DC traffic in the fast lane! Only problem was my seat - I'm 5'-8" and like to have the seat elevated but I couldn't get the seat to go back far enough to be comfortable so I tried lowering it but I was was still too close to the accelerator...the driver's seat appears to stop further forward on the rails than the passenger seat. Maybe the driver's seat travel will fix itself when I'm troubleshooting the passenger seat.
When I arrived at the hotel I parked next to a very nice silver 210 (see below) - forgot to look at the badge on the trunk but it had a 'Sport' badge on the side and some very nice looking 19" rims. 245/35/19 on the front so I'm thinking the ride is a bit harsh...
