Replacing driver seat bottom

A member was having issues with their power seat not working so another member suggested he remove the seat bottom to look at the motors and wiring - is removing the seat bottom an easy thing to do? Might be the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to replace my driver's seat bottom - it's pretty ugly.

pretty straight forward. don't try with a weak back though. toss moving blanket or sheets
of cardboard on the floor first.

OK thanks. So it's the whole seat that has to come out...was hoping the seat would come apart in sections like my Mazda6 - the bottom cushion and the back cushion can each be unbolted from the seat frame. I was able to replace the worn and torn pieces separately with good ones from my local Pick'n'Pull...they get wrecked E320's in there regularly.

The upper and lower sections can be separated but it would be very difficult with the seat in the car.

Yep...no doubt about that. I have some other issues with the power functions of both front seats - will try to fix those before i fixing the cosmetic stuff.

Step 1: Remove Head Restraint.

Uh, is there a sheet that explains how to do that? Especially if the power head restraint doesn't work but happens to be stuck exactly where I want it? I assume the seat won't come out of the car with the head restraint in place, or at least it will be just that much more awkward. Thanks.

front head rest removal sequence in your owner's manual. but yes, you'll need it to be
functioning first in order to cycle it fully extended before removing it. i think the seat
can be removed with headrest still on .... with added maneuvering though
