BTW, shiney or not, the shade you've chosen looks good (although a matching blue CF would have been even tighter). Just out of interest does the aftermarket pillars have smooth surface or are they "lumpy"/textured like the OEM ones?

Shane you gotto post pics of your car - I don't think I've seen a blue one (W210) in here yet

Do these things replace the factory units or install on top of them? Having trouble finding the factory units from E55.

Again, how do these things attach to the doors?

The factory units replace the existing pillars if you call the local dealer they wont be able to help at least that was my experience. You can contact the parts pimp with your paint code I was quoted $400.00 shipped

Mmmm, the OEM ones are textured and glossy but not all that high gloss....I guess the aftermarket ones (with the exception of the logos) do have added value.

Do the carbon fiber-look door pillars attach with the two screws like on the factory ones (one screw at top, one at bottom).

Does anyone have a part number for the factory E55 carbon fiber B-pillars?

No they stick on over your present pillars they come with adhesive on the back side. prep the area with supplied adhesive promoter then peel and stick.

OK, they stick on over factory. Is that true with factory E55 pillars also?

The factory pillars (E55) would replace your pillars now they are not stick on, they would bolt on.

I bought a set a few months ago and the fit is horrible. They are around 1/4" too short so there is a space between the carbon fiber and that rubber seal on the top and bottom. I never installed them because it would look bad. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone.

Hey Blown:

You bought a set of factory pillars or aftermarket? Are you saying the factory pillars fit poorly? How could that be? Where did you get them? How much?

Sucess!.......(I think ??)

My parts guy at the dealer has a set of black carbon-fiber door pillars from an E55 ordered. Will be in Monday. With my "discount," they are $128 per side. I will let you know how they look, if they fit, etc.

Will also try to furnish part numbers for you guys.
