Misfires

I recently overfilled my gas tank, didn't shut off and of course gasoline projected out of the fill hole. I then drove the vehicle which ran rough but the problem went away after 10 miles. The problem I have now is that if I put my gas pedal to the floor, I get a CEL and the engine runs rough, If I stop the vehicle, turn it off and back on the problem goes away. The CEL is for multiple misfires. I don't have the problem if I gradually gain speed. I have searched this site and there are a myriad of problems which can cause this. Where do you think I should start?

You have developed sympathetic psychosis, just because you open the car door does not mean that a bumper would\will fall off.
In your case overfilling the gas tank wasted gas and money and had no impact on your so called misfires. Misfires are typically cause by spark issues-----get your tools out and start diagnosing the problem or better yet delegate the problem to your youngest child. He or she will have the problem diagnosed in thirty minutes.

Misfires were caused by the driver's side CATS being plugged, I replaced the CATS on that side and the problem is fixed.
