I have a 1998 mercedes E300 Turbo Diesel that will not start .After checking most common items it appears that there is no diesel being pumped. I cannot find any info on how to replace the fuel pump. Help please.

 

do you have a 606.912 or a 606.962----and assuming you did a leak test to confirm lack of fuel the fuel pump is on the side of the injection pump part 606 070 06 91 or as a kit in 000 090 77 50---a simple replacement

Thanks for replying. I am a newbie and not mechanically inclined, so please forgive my ignorance. I have tested the fuel line, plus the other items above and find there is no fuel being pumped. I have searched this site and Pelican Parts and am a member of Alldata with no results on where to locate the fuel pump nor how to replace it. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

The first thing you want to learn is that if a question is posed answer it and don't provide another question---re read post two and answer the question.
Then you have a major problem if you have Alldata and can't locate the information on your car. My suggestion is take a week or two and understand what you have access to. If that is not possible then seek professional help!!
