W210 E55 comand swap connections
Hello
I am doing a Comand 2.0 swap from my APS 30 BT-2 in my year 2000 W210 E55.
So the connections are exactly the same on both units, but when I connected the comad a few weeks ago just to try it, it blew the fuse.
The unit had been sitting around for a few years so I thought it might have been something wrong with the comed itself but when I tried it in my W163 ML, which came with a comand 2.0 from factory, it worked perfectly.
So I have searched around a bit regarding which cable goes where in the connector and the +12V and ground have the exact same color on both cars and sits in the exact same location in the connector. The other cables though have different colors, 1/2 of the connector is for the speakers so that should´t matter but right next to the +12V and ground there are a few cabels with:
-Ignition powered. +12 V with the ignition key is in the ACC or ON position.
-iLLUM Light-on signal or backlight adjustment. +12V supplied to light-on pin of head unit when tail lights ar turned on.
-ANT OUT Power for Electric Antenna. Output +12 V (maximum 150 - 300mA)
-Diagnostic caable
-Non speed signal
-Telephone mute
These cables have different colors between the cars´. The W210 doesn´t have the diagnostic cable but all the other cables are connected.
Should I disconnect some of the cables or connect a diagnostic cable? I am a bit lost here....... I read something about the illumination is powerd through different cables depending on which unit tgere is installed, , maybe that's what blew the fuse?[/QUOTE]
