With reference to container charges, it is definitely cheaper but there are also hidden cost to it.
Our monthly container fee from Osaka to Singapore cost about US$200!
However, the port handling charges + stuffing charges + tax + land frieght... they amount to about US$2000.
Or if you are coming to Singapore for holiday... you may want to drop by my showroom and hand carry it back :p

hey, can i do that.....go for a trip , bring up a bumper and bring it back on the plane........i think for now i'll leave it alone, i having my business partner look into his connections..........
