E Class Body Rust
Anyone experienced body rust from inside out on 2001 models?
My 16 month old model requires 4 doors, bonnet and boot lid plus complete spray to match metallic. Please don't laugh, just cry with me:! any results and how did MB deal with you? many thanks

RUST PROBLEMS ON E-CLASS

You all better check
Check in the following areas:
Under door where the rubber seals are, around the trunk lid, and trunk handle, along the sides of the hood.
This mainly applies to sedans built up until mid-2001.
Remedy from dealer is to re-spray car.
They never galvanised the car to prevent rust growing.

On the 208 CLK forum there is a thread re rust around the trunk door handle on a
two year old CLK.

MB has only a 4 year/50,000 miles RUST warranty.
Porsche: 10 years/unlimited miles.
Infinity: 7 years/unlimited miles.
