2 Questions from Newbie
Actually just got my 99 E320 today and I have 2 questions:
The headliner, although in great condition is sagging above the rear seats, almost from the back of the mood roof to the rear window. Aside from completely removing what are the best methods to repair?
My Brake Lining wear indicator warning is on, how do I tell if its the front or back brakes?
Thanks for any help

use search feature "headliner"
brake pads...the last time, i just looked. the cutaway window allows one to view the pads. popping
off the wheel is a 1-2 minute job if you (or neighbor) has a floor jack. but perhaps someone else
will respond with tips on this

you can try that simpler method of headliner repair. be aware that with the E320 it is the foam which decomposes
so if you spray or saturate in between the layer with adhesive as depicted, there may not be sufficient hard
surface to adhere to. if that happens you'll need to switch to plan B...a more comprehensive repair/replacement.
you are looking at a 20 yr old car with a history of poor headliner adhesion, after all

Headliners are not easy fix due to fact that fabric has foam layer holding it to solid backing. When the foam deteriorate- the fabric drops and when you apply glue to old foam- it will drop again.
You can buy new material at Joana's . but gluing it on the car is very difficult, if not impossible.
For brake pads, pull the wheel as raymond says, or use android snake camera.

Thanks. I went to NAPA autoparts today and bought OEM pads for the front, and installed them; problem solved. I think I'll try the easy fix for the headliner knowing in the long run its a bigger job.

As kajtek1 and raymond g- said, the foam is most likely kaput.
Here's a video posted by a MB member on a DIY W202 headliner replacement that may be helpful down the road, if you chose to go this route.
