E320 sounding like a diesel?

2005 E55 AMG
E320 sounding like a diesel?
So my 2001 E320 with about 160k sounds like a diesel engine at idle. Mainly when in gear and at idle. The sound is heard from the outside very easily. I read this could be lifters, although I do not notice any issue with starting or performance. The noise seems to he coming more from the center top of the engine. Has anyone had any issues like this themselves? Car has had regular mobil 1 oil changes

Your rear catalytic converters. Have any mufler shop check them out.
