Check Engine Electronics
I have a "check engine electronics" warning, a "check engine" light as well as an intermitent flashing low fuel gauge light. Has any one experienced these symptoms? Any sugestions? It's a 1997 E420

Have you checked to see if your gas cap is on tight? Have the codes read to see what is setting the Check Engine Light on. If you do not notice any performance issues, then you can reset the codes and see if it comes back after a few drive cycles. You may just find that the gas cap was not on tight or needs to be replaced. The code may reset after the condition goes away or after you drive for 50 miles or more. I would read the codes first of all to see what turned on the CE light and then reset it by disconnecting the battery at the Negative Battery disconnect panel in the footwell on the rear passenger side.

Are you talking about this?
It is the Audio 10 CD. It will interface with the optical CD players found in the 99+ models. The CDC button sets it to control the CD Changer. You can get them on the German version of ebay www.ebay.de because they were only sold in Europe. A lot of people are installing navigation systems or COMAND and selling off the indash CD players.
