2001 E320 W210 Stuck in Park

Please forgive me if I've missed a previous thread on this model. However, my E320 is stuck in park and I must use the manual release to shift it out of park. The shifter box appears to be all electronic and I'm not sure if there is anything "repairable" inside, like the older shifters. Am I correct on this assessment and, does anyone have experience with this issue on the same model? Brake lights are working, so the brake switch is not expected to be faulty. Any help is appreciated, and again, sorry if this is a repeat, I did search.

There are *two* switches in the brake light switch. The one for the brake lights could be working and the other not working. The swap is only 10-15 minutes. Start easy and then work up in difficulty of troubleshooting. There is a solenoid in the center shift module that fails on occasion but, again, start with the easy items first.

UPDATE:
Replaced shifter - Still will not crank
Turned key to on, jumped starter relay - engine cranked and started
With engine running, shifter will not shift out of P without pressing manual release button.

Once engine was turned off, received "2 MALFUNCTIONS" notification: BAS and ABS warnings

Read ODB II 3 codes after start: P0120, P0600 & P0705
Assuming:
P0600 = Serial Communication Link Malfunction
P0705 = Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction (PRNDL Input) <- Culprit?
P0120 = Throttle position sensor

Codes were read with Innova 3020b

Did I mention this car is for sale...
