Anyone installed ambient lighting in their w210?

I want to have footwell lights front and rear, I am not too savvy with wiring and such, could anyone share how they've done it if so?
Thanks.

I used an old set of Christmas lights, they work great. I get power from a bunch of dry cell batteries that I have hanging from both hand rails

Do you have pictures of the wiring?

I had some of these in a car I had years ago. They lit up the footwell area nicely. I work at a Harley dealership and they were taken off a trade in and cost me nothing. With that being said, I wouldn't do it again. It seemed kind of cheap once it was done and I rarely used them. Linked is the new ones, I had the older style Electra Glo light pod kit.

Just wired them into a switch 12v source and they worked with an on/off knob.

A bit late to this but I installed some in my w210 not long after I got it. I bought a set of lights off of Wish and they work great, they were like $13 or something. I made sure that the plug was a USB plug and not a dedicated car plug. To install I removed the radio and put all the box components back there and ran the antenna out of the passenger side heat vent on the bottom-ish side. Then from there I pushed the 2 wires for both sides (2 each side, one for rear and one for front) on either side through the cloth covered bit that's there. I ran them along that part and tucked away the cable as I ran it through the back to get to the rear seats. For the rear seats I zip tied them to that bar that crosses through there (you can use the sticky bit that's on the light, I just wanted to do it this way). Make sure you leave excess wire between the console and seat so that the seat can move without breaking anything. Once that was done I used the sticky bit on the front lights and stuck em to the plastic that's underneath the dash on both sides. With the antenna hanging out just slightly on the other side I always have a signal for it. And with the USB end I was able to put it on a dual USB plug so I can charge my phone if I needed to. Since there's only one plug in the whole car. I also solved that problem a few months ago too. Pretty genius way that I did it, not to brag or anything haha. I had to though because I bought a dashcam, that's a whole other story though. Anyways, if you need pictures I can take some. For both projects. Or I can make a quick YouTube video of my whole current set up and post the link. Probably better and easier for both of us that way. But just lmk. Also new to the site so might be a while before I figure it all out.
