hello everyone, im very new here at writing a new post, i usually use forums for finding my problems by reading other peoples similar issues in their posts. my w210 M104 engine wont crank over, it starts with a 12v supply to the starter motor so i know its not the starter motor.
i bought a new inhibitor switch and just plugged it into the connector on the gearbox and switched the lever to all the positions and still no start. so i dont think its that, although i didnt actually attach the switch to the transmission. there is no voltage going to this switch when the key is in position 3
looking at the K40 relay module i can see 4 out of 5 relays switching when i turn the key to the start position, should all 5 work? be nice to know which relay is switching what exactly? pic below shows which relay doesnt switch on when key is in the start position.i have put another k40 relay in which is supposedly good and same problem. tested for continuity across all the individual relays across the small and large amperage circuits and they all test fine.
reading elsewhere start problem could be the ignition switch, but surely there would be no power to the K40 relay if this was the case? would it?
