What code reader for a 1999 E320 w210
I want to read and clear codes for this car. I have an iCarsoft i980 but it jumps from w209 to w211 and won’t work for this car.

that all depends on the degree of codes people seek to read and erase. use the
right tool for the job. some DIY folks want as much control as available so will pay
top money. many varieties of diagnostic tools out there. oh, only basic coding is
available through the OBD2 port under the dash, but the round port in the engine
bay is the magic wand

W210 E320, W211 E500, Two T1N Sprinters
Charliev68. So you have a 38 pin round physical adapter that goes to the code reader or a reader that has a 38 pin round plug to start with?
I need to check my 2002 E320's SRS light. Have you happened to do that with your iLink400?
I checked the compatibility list in excel format of the iLink400 and W210 isn't on it. But E-Class 210 it is on the list on the web site, but not much detail on needing the round adapter, or what it would be able to do.

Out Of Control!!
Assuming the car is located in USA, then you have an OBD port that any garden variety of reader can plug into
If you say you have used DAS, then you have answered your own question. What more engraftation do you need!

Although it does have an OBD2 port, I believe that the port ONLY reads/clears engine codes (enough to satisfy mandates for sales). SRS, ESP, BAS etc must still be read through the 38 pin under the hood. I bought a used DAS in the classifieds here to read my older cars. Careful, plenty of sellers sell a conversion plug from OBD2 to 38 pin, but that doesn't mean a scanner will be able to read anything through the plug
