Fiber Optic CD Changer???
I posted a message on the "audio" heading, but I didn't get very many hits. My recently purchased '99 E320 was a lease back car that did not include the cd changer. I have seen a few changers (fiber optic) on Ebay and there appears to be two units. One that fits in the glove box and the other in the trunk. I assume that my car needs the one in the trunk. My other assumption is that both will work in my car, but my have different brackets. Can anyone provide me with more information? Is there is a general website?

Not certain but I do not believe that the 99's were fibre optic. The onr for the trunk is the correct one, thats where all the wires should be.

Bought a brand new fiber optic MB trunk CD changer w/ bracket Dec. '01 on ebay from Stereo for Less (email: stereoforless@hotmail.com) for $400, had my MB dealer install for $100

'99 E320
Fiber optic CD Changer
I installed a CD changer on my 99 E320 recently. It is indeed a fiber optic. The 99 E320 is pre-wired. I purchased the changer from discountcarstereo.com and they also shipped the brackets. I believe you can find cheaper ones elsewhere. It's a very easy install. The wiring was in the trunk on the driver's side, although discountcarstereo said it's on the passenger's side.
Pull out the mats, (there are some thumb screws) and you should see the wiring.
