Gearbox rattling
Good day folks,
First post here and unfortunately it has to do with a problem. I just had my drive shaft replaced on my 02 E430 4matic. I put it in because there was a clinking sound when I put it in reverse and when the car downshifted. I was also noticing some shaking in the shifter when I accelerated but it was only briefly. Nonetheless, after the driveshaft was replaced, the clinking sound went away, as did the shaking in the shifter. But yesterday the shaking in the shifter came back. The car drives fine but that shaking is very annoying and it feels like I got shafted (no pun intended). Anyone know if this was related to the clinking sound or is this a totally different problem?

The Drive Shaft was replaced last week. The clinking sound went away but the gear shifter started shaking again...Car runs and drives fine...Like I said the gear shifter shakes from time to time. I drove it this morning and really noticed it.

So I noticed the gear shifter knob is shaking even more. I have been researching for the past couple of days. I have read that it is just the bushings but that was on a different model. Any help would be great. I really like this car, plus I am already 1600 in on it. Just frustrating I have this beautiful car and can't drive it.
