Project of my w210
I have a w210 270 CDI Avantgarde age 2001 that I have bought from my father and I am going to make some changes to adapt it to my age and needs but without losing the model class e.
I will upload with images everything I do and I will ask you.
This is the car currently:
Objective:
I want to start with three questions:
- What tire size does the prototype have and what tire profile?
- Will I have to lower the car? (The Avantgarde is lower)
- Are these Mercedes ml rims compatible in 19?⬇ (19 x 8'5 et 45)
What tire size does the prototype have and what tire profile?
if you're asking what the original equipment sized tire is, that should be 215-55-16
Will I have to lower the car? (The Avantgarde is lower)
that is up to you to determine. if you are thinking of lowering and modifying the suspension
from that which was designed by MB, you need to read up on the pros/cons on how this will
impact ride, comfort, clearance, handling, cost, parts needed etc.
Are these Mercedes ml rims compatible in 19?⬇ (19 x 8'5 et 45)
chances are that it will not: ball seat for the lug will likely be larger than your 12mm stock
bolt and ball seat. the offset is higher than the stock design and the wider wheel and tire
may cause the inside of the front tire to rub the suspension if you are wanting the odo/speedometer
to remain accurate.
if you're wanting the car to match your age, what does that mean? are you wanting to
modify your car just for looks or function? how much money you have to spend on these
changes is also important. these changes may not be cheap and may also make the
ride uncomfortable or not suitable for poorly maintained roads.
In your prototype the wheels look to be 19 inch
Will I have to lower the car? (The Avantgarde is lower)
Your drawing looks to have a very mild drop. 1 inch or so. Check your spring pads to see what number you have. If you have a #5 pad right now. Switching to a #1 pad may give you the results you want without changing much of the suspension dynamics.
Are these Mercedes ml rims compatible in 19?⬇ (19 x 8'5 et 45)
You would have to run custom lug bolts (RAD bolts) most likely a 10mm spacer to keep from hitting the inside fender well.
I noticed in your prototype that the trim is painted darker than the rest of the car. For your information, that was done up until 1997 on the E class cars. So painting your trim will make your car look about 4 years older.
Very easy objective. Looks like tint, wheels, mild drop, and painting the trim.
