Front Shock Life
My 2000 E430 AWD, 137k miles seems to wallow a bit on uneven asphalt roads. Notice at 25 - 45 mph, smooths out at higher speeds. Car has original shocks, sway bar bushings. 2 questions:
1. What is the expected life of original shocks?
2. Are polyurethane sway bar bushings available for this car?
I plan to replace sway bar bushings first - easy and cheap. Shocks on the 4-matic are a real bear to replace and would rather not unless absolutely necessary. Or maybe what I consider wallow is normal for the big Benz? This is the first one I've owned so nothing to compare to. It is not disconcerting but maybe I just expect more stability? Cornering is fine, nice and flat. Any comments are appreciated!

Thanks Khomer2! I have seen the Mercedes Source video and the test he used for shock condition, as well as the difficulty he had in replacing the fronts. Bilstein state their shocks are 'Lifetime' but you know how they lie! I have a good indie and Pelican has the shocks for $138 ea. I'm going to have my mechanic look things over before I bite the bullet. I had already used the search, but no info on shock life expectancy. Poly sway bar bushings available from Energy Suspension, but must be made based on bar thickness. I was hoping they were available elsewhere by model. anyway, thanks again for your help.
