New Pioneer head unit - green wire "parking brake"
I am installing a new head unit from Pioneer in my E50 AMG, all is set except I don't know where to connect the green "parking brake" wire. I never use parking brake anyway, is it possible to connect it to "park" gear instead? Anyhow, any ideas where to connect it? I have a lot of loose wires from the previous install so the wire I need might be right in front of me. But how do I identify it? Just put a voltmeter in and measure if anything gives 12V at "parking brake on" or "park gear selected"?
You can, if you wish, just ground that wire onto the metal body of the HU (not wire it up)
This will prevent the WARNING DISPLAY from showing up on the screen.
Perhaps you have an HU that doesnt permit this?
Every HU that I have installed in past that has the standard warning, including Pioneer, has cancelled the display warning.
And no issues that you refer to.
Read beyond what you've read and do some more due diligence.
Plenty of youtube videos explaining all of this.
IF you wish to tap into your parking, your green wire off the HU may need to be extended and tapped into the red (power) wire on your emergency brake harness.
