Mysterious bracket

Hi new to the forums but when I was checking on the co edition of my flex discs I saw this mysterious hanger rear passenger side. It is L shaped and has two screws protruding from the L portion.

Welcome Mediablitz,

Is there a Q in here, somewhere?

Just wondering what it is and what purpose it serves. I didn't see a part number but I guess I may have to take it off to find it

might be there to stop stuff hitting your drive shaft axle and tearing the rubber boot ?
Does the other side have something in the way of the axle at roughly the same height ( fuel tank, muffler etc )

I do not see anything on other side but this particular piece appears to have something attached to it at some point.

Thanks for the interest

Maybe a rubber flap
Have seen other cars that have similar brackets to protect the rubber boots on the shaft, they generally have a rubber flap
