2001 E430
Talking Floormats

Hello all,

I am a new member to the Mercedes world & am loving it so far!

Purchased a 2001 E430 a few weeks ago and am looking into protective floormats...

Anyone have a recommendation as to what fits well?
Am leaning towards rubber matts for heavy-duty protection

Have seen the MB dealer matts & Weathertech(who also had a cargo liner for the trunk) Neither are cheap, but I suppose a good investment!

Any recommendations/advice appreciated.

I have the same factory rubber mats as the ones in the photo which came free with the car. They are the best that I have seen so far in terms of fitment, holding up dirt/water, easy to clean and a perfect match to the interior. You won't regard with these MB mats.

good luck..

Yes,,they are all weather jobbies,,,cost $75 for the set,,you cant kill them. They hold the dirt, water, slush, etc really well, and match the interior.Got em from MBUSA,,collection.
Whitey has good taste, the trunk thing is nice too, especially if you keep all those cleaning and waxing things back there, its at the collection as well.Welcome to the forum!!

I knew the golf clubs would turn a few of u guys on for me, the trunk thing might be too much hassle cuz I keep a lot of stuff in the spare wheel compartment so it'll be hell trying to get to it.

Hey, will the rubber ones withstand cigarette burns too...I burnt my carpet when some ash dropped on it

So the rubber is cigarette-proof...great .....but I want something a little more unique, thinking maybe grey/black or white/black checks on carpets which is the latest trend in Japanese benzo scene...dunno

Floor/Cargo Mats

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I think I am leaning towards the MB mats for the interior of the car & the weathertech cargo mat.
http://www.weathertech.com/store/veh...tem_group_id=1
I liked the way it is open...fits larger items easier, which is what I need...

Does that MB mat come in other colors or just black? I like the look/shape of it better than the weathertech.

Thanks again everyone...what a great resource this place is!

If **** is what you're after and not on too much of a budget, I'd suggest the OEM AMG E55 ones, much better pile, PURE LUXURY and STYLE! ..........

Steve, note Kev's pedals, the E-brake is different, just like mine.

Weathertech makes a nice trunk liner - and you can still use the wheel wells. I was conccerned about that storage as well, plus the CD changer kind of sticks up there. I believe I got mine at AutoAnything.com

Park Place

Park Place was extremely fast and shipping was only $5.00! I paid $59 for a full set for my E420. I like the WeatherTech trunk liner - it doesn't cover the wells behind the wheels and has a nice, high lip on it.

Congrats! Please show us pics if you can. Also, is it difficult to lift the trunk liner in order to get to the spare wheel well (which I also use as storage)?

Did you install yourself, or asked a dealer? $450 looks like affordable for me, so I'll try to call performance to figure out if they have them in stock.

I did do it myself,,,t27 wrench,a breaker bar,I forget what size the center nut was,10mm I think, extend the wheel towards the rear all the way, keep the key away from the ignition so u dont have to disconnect the batt.zip zip,it was done in 20 mins, and I was goin slow cause I didnt wanna break any leads to the airbag.Performance should have it,,,they gave me a good deal,it was listing for almost 600.

Steve, are you sure it is a Torx 27? I need to be sure before I go out and buy one to take mine apart. Yes, the centre bolt is 10mm and a helluva lot of elbow grease to get that sucker off!
