Newbie looking for purchase advice
I think I will be purchasing an E class for my next car. I'd like a 2001 or 2002 off lease car or equivalent.
Are there any special features that I should look for - the dealer couldn't tell me much about the "older" cars.
Does anyone know when dual stage airbags were implemented in these cars? Also, when did the fiber optic network get implemented?
TIA for any and all advice.

The W210 had the Model update in 2000 that Includes Updated Body work/hood/fenders/bumpers/grill/headlights/Outside Mirrors with turn signals ..Inside ..Multifunction steering wheel and Cluster via canbus
Also Comand was a Option in 2000..But you can retrofit a Comand in the early cars ..With the help from Steve.I Would look at the 2000/2002

On the newer cars, watch out for:
Malfunctioning audio systems/CD changers (mine has been replaced 4 times)
AC units (repaired twice)
Navigation systems (wouldn't have one)
Other electrical problems
