hi, the blower fan on my 98 E320 blows pretty much on low only. I know MB had problem with these. I just need to verify that do I need to replace the blower motor or I can just change the regulator, or both???

I searched this forum and the answers were not clear. thanks in advance

Had the same thing happen to me. Many others as well.

You have two options. The first is the factory suggested approach which is to relpace the entire blower motor housing, blower and regulator to an updated version designed to fix this known flaw. This can run you, parts and labor, about $1,500.

The second is a work-around in which you modify a blower motor regulator for a 140 model (I think) and just replace this in your W210. I did this option and it took me about 1 hour and cost about $200.

Do a search under "blower motor regulator" and you will find several threads that detail the parts and technique for fixing this issue.

thanks. I'm ordering the regulator from the S class: Part # 140 821 8351

from a local part store for $105 which I am being told I can use to fix this. Hope it works.
