STOP LIGHTS
Would I be correct in saying that if the CENTER stop light comes on when applying the brake, that the brake light switch is OK ?
So does anyone have an idea why the stop lights on either side don't come on.
Bulbs are OK.

Did you check your fuses? - DS. End of the dashboard. fusebox.

Corrosion on the sockets is a common culprit on these cars. Need to replace the whole assembly.
Have had that problem on one of my right rear lights for awhile now. Finding used ones for a wagon sucks.

it is my belief that the materials selected for the taillight contacts is prone to accelerated oxidation. anecdotal, i know, but i have been including periodic cleaning of the contacts using “Deoxit” every several months. I haven’t had the annoying ‘bulb malfunction’. We’ll see how long this lasts and whether it can be attributed to ‘Deoxit’. there are competitive products on the market... each with their own additives and secret sauces
