E430 Transmission question...
I serviced my transmission @ home using the proper fluid and filter. Trans started acting up so I installed a new conductor plate ( no change) Would not upshift out of second gear...I took it to local MB service shop ( I have done business with them on other Benzes I have owned) . Was told that the fluid was red therefore wrong - I put in clear German fluid...They flushed it, put in new clear fluid, drove it & no problems with shifting but when I picked it up the shower me that the fluid was red tinted again. Any ideas anyone ????????
What is happening is that they did install MB red fluid but it is changing to a foamy pink "strawberry milk" shake substance just like it was prior to the flush...Both the fluids did the same thing...Could be the Trans cooler but the radiator is new.
