Question washer pump on 2002 e320 wagon

I'm pretty sure the washer pump is gone on my 2002 E320 wagon. (200K) No fluid coming out and no noise from the pump. My question is do I have to remove the reservoir to replace the pump? And is it accessible from the main engine compartment. It appears to be easily accessible, but all the videos I have seen show going through the wheel well to access the reservoir, but I think this is for new models than the 2002. I ordered an new pump from Rock Auto for $4.90 and hoping I can easily replace it without having to remove the whole resevoir or if I have to do that, that it is easy to do. Any suggestions or videos that would show how to do this? I don't want to put a lot of money into the car as it had 200K on it and is almost 19 years old ( I got it new in November of 2001).
Thanks for any help!

I have a 2000 E430, I believe it would be the same as your car. I did not have to remove the tank but I did have to lift the small front tank , lift up and out of the if you have the two piece tank, a short hose connects the two parts. Once out of the way you can see the pumps, one for headlamps the other for the windshield. Be sure to get a new grommet where the pump inlet attaches to the tank. I have taken the tank out just to clean it, it is not a big deal. Mark

Sorry I forgot to mention that you can do through the engine compartment.

Thanks Mark, There is only one reservoir and one pump, so hopefully will be easier. I did not buy the grommet, so I may find that I need that. Time will tell
I appreciate the info.
