Maintenance Records
I am getting a 1999 E class ready for the road, been parked 10 yrs, and while cleaning the car I found a stack of maintenance receipts from a local dealer, roughly 7,500.00
Last service is just before car was parked. Some are kinda disturbing to me, Rear main seal was replaced due to warping ?? I can get a picture of the printed receipt but I never heard of a seal warp before?? Is this dealership B.S. or is this common?? Did a search and no results found on this website.
also says trans service and plug replaced? Does not say what plug, but when I power on the car the display for the mileage is just a bunch of bars, also I don't know what they did to service transmission, I guess fluid change, is there a standard for MB transmission service?
also differential service and sealant, does that mean change fluid and cover was sealed or did they put in a stop leak type of thing??
any information is appreciated, thank you

Out Of Control!!
At this pointit really dosent mean much out side of the fact that the main seal was replaced ten years ago and after sitting for years may need to be replaced again.
The transmission plug historically leaked. It is the connector on the transmissions conductor plate, the transmission brain, and once again after sitting form ten years needs to be replaced
The differential fluid was replaced and new drain plugs put in
I hope you dident put more that a couple of hundred into the car, cause its going to get expensive going forward

The car was free, family friend passed away and left the car to my father who gave it to me. Not to worried about the coming issues, more worried about getting it back up and running. Rather fix what I have to before I try and start her
