Question Missing CD Player for UK E280 1998

Recently purchased 1998 E280 "avantgarde" (Auto) saloon.
The radio appears to be "Special" model, see attachment, with no CD changer..
The CC-CD button only operates a cassette.
Will I need to change the radio to install any type of CD player ?
I do not know how to view the back of the present unit to see if there is a CD wiring socket.
Any relevant suggestions very welcome.

There should be CD changer wiring already run to the trunk area above the rear wheel well on the driver's side You have to pull out the trunk carpet to find the 10 pins CD changer connector sitting by itself. It is mounted alongside other cables right underneath the trunk hinges on the driver's side. If 1998 model is non-fibre optic type, I have an ALPINE 6 disks changer with a MB adapter which can plug and play to the existing unit. pm me for details.

Angry

Just done a check for wiring in the trunk(UK-boot)
Sadly no wiring.
I think that I will just have to live without this facility.
I don't want a major expense at the moment.
Thanks for your input.
